Aalo, Jun 12: Acting on the information that many regular government servants are availing the highly subsidized food security schemes through possession of AAY & Priority Household Category family ration cards in the name of their wives, husbands and daughters, West Siang Deputy Commissioner Moki Loyi has instructed that all such illegal cards should be surrendered within June 30.
Drawing of monthly TPDS rice quota @ of 35 kg against AAY and 5 kg per member per month against PHHC @ Rs. 3 per kg under the National Food Security Act, 2013 by the working government servants is illegal. AAY and PHHC are meant for the poorest of the poor and BPL families whose annual income is below Rs 1 lakh per annum. 
DC also asked the DF & CSO Rebom Nguso Lendo to identify such ration card holders and compel them to surrender the cards within June 30 failing which stringent legal action will be taken along with a recovery drive of the cost of food grains drawn fraudulently with retrospective effect from April 2016 @ Rs. 27 per kg.
DF & CSO disclosed that the matter is being taken up with concerned administrative officers, HGBs and GBs to work out an authentic list of poor and BPL families and the department’s staff are preparing the list of illegal ration card holders. DIPRO
