ROING, Jul 16: A 5-day long refresher in-service teachers training programme, organised by the Pedagogy Cell, ISSE, SSA Zilla Mission, Roing was inaugurated today by the Deputy Commissioner Mitali Namchoom in the presence of DDSE Ego Doye, resource persons and trainees.

 

Addressing the trainees, Namchoom said that the training programme is an opportunity for the teachers to learn the new approaches in teaching from the experts in the field and advised all trainees to translate the learning in the classroom environment so that students benefit from it. Stating that teachers are accountable for a student’s performance, the DC advised the teachers to educate themselves, prepare well before teaching the students in the classroom.

 

The DC also emphasised on the need for the teachers to engage personally with the students, go beyond the curriculum, concentrate on language abilities as well as need for random tests to keep the students alert and motivated. She also informed the teachers that strict monitoring of teachers and their performance would begin and so cautioned all to perform their duties sincerely.

 

DDSE Ego Doye informed about the aims and objectives of the training programme and said that 319 teachers would be trained in 4 batches for the Roing block. A total of 519 teachers of the district would be trained in the programmes to be conducted in different blocks of the district.
