HOLLONGI, Jun 28: Minister for Urban Development, Land Management, Law and Justice, Nabam Rebia on Wednesday visited the Tourist Resort building and Primary Health Centre at Hollongi and took stock of the dilapidated infrastructures.
During his visit, Rebia thoroughly inspected the building which was constructed way back in 2006-07 and said that it is very sad to see the important asset lying unused and unattended by the department.
Urging that it should have been used for which purpose it was created, Rebia expressed displeasure over wastage of public property and directed the District Tourism Officer Papum Pare to immediately start the renovation work from July and to utilise the building.
Meanwhile DTO Tater Mize apprised the minister that Tourist Resort building had not been formally handed over to tourism department till date by executing agency RWD department.
Rebia later also visited the Tourist Information centre, Health Centre, Hollongi etc and directed the DTO to work the possibilities to make the Tourism Information Centre functional and to renovate the welcome gate of Doimukh.
In response to the appeal of DMO to help find a suitable place to shift the PHC due to various reasons, Rebia requested the forest department to let the PHC function till further arrangement is made as health centre is very important for the people.
