BANDERDEWA, Apr 30:While visiting the local artisans of Hapa village under Pichola Panchayat today, Minister UD, TP, Law & Judicial Nabam Rebia admired the local ornaments made by the womenfolk and stated that the government is committed to encourage women artisans to ensure their sustainable livelihood.
Assuring all necessary support, Rebia appreciated the women artisans for their innovative ideas and pointed out that their handmade products reflects the local customs and traditions. He impressed upon them to avail state and centrally sponsored schemes for their socio-economic empowerment.
Divulging that the government has already declared Tani Hapa village as valuable artisan village, Rebia assured to improve their working conditions by providing uninterrupted power and water supply etc. He also stressed on providing local artisans a platform to display and market their innovative finished products in the capital complex.
Rebia who was accompanied by officers, PRI members and IMC Councillor of Banderdewa Tai Tassung, visited 7 sheds out of total 32 sheds in the area and got first-hand information about the entire production process.
Meanwhile in response to few connectivity issues raised by locals, Rebia announced a sum of Rupees Fifty Lakh for construction of Rural Link Road from Ruru Hapa Via Tani Hapa and directed the RWD Executive Engineer Techi Jobae present there to immediately start the work.
Earlier, the minister also visited the PMGSY road from Banderdewa to Tani Hapa and proposed RLR site between Ruru Hapa and Tani Hapa village with the officers and local leaders of the area.
