DOIMUKH, May 27 : Minister Environment and Land Management on Saturday appealed villagers to maintain the flora and fauna and ecology for good health and environment.
Addressing a development meeting at Mani Village under Doimukh Circle, Rebia said that rampant forest destruction is affecting the ecological balance.
Referring to reduction of water in Mani Nallah, he opined that it is due to rampant earth cutting and forest clearing for jhum cultivating and urged villagers to avoid such activities around 1 KM radius of the catchment area of the water source.
Referring to the memorandum submitted by the local PRI members, Rebia said that he has already released 50 lakhs for CC road in the village and additional will be released as per estimate submitted by the PWD.
