ITANAGAR, Aug 20: State BJP has announced that it will not include the MLAs of other parties in its fold till the 2024 election.
The resolution was taken today here at capital during a Sangathan Parv of the party karyakartas who are spreadheading the on-going membership drive-Sadyastha Abhiyan. The event was graced by National General Secretary & In-charge of North Eastern Region Ram Madhav, North East General Secretary (Organisation) Ajay Jamwal, Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Member of Parliament-cum-President, Arunachal Pradesh BJP Tapir Gao.]
Addressing the gathering, Ram Madhav shared that current membership of BJP has crossed 15 crore and is still counting. He also assured that there should be no apprehension on the part of Northeastern states on the issue of Article 371 and this special provision will continue as it is. Elaborating on the issue, he said that Kashmir is a very different situation with different history and it cannot be compared with the special status of the Northeastern states. Later on, keeping in line with the party’s tradition, Ram Madhav along with Chief Minister, GS (Organisation) North East Region and Tapir Gao participated in a special meeting with all the BJP contestant candidates who lost in the last election.
During the meeting both Khandu and Gao categorically made it clear that there will be no merger of any MLAs of any party with BJP till the next election in 2024 in Arunachal Pradesh.
