Tawang, Nov 5: A review meeting concerning the approaching 11th Maitree Diwas celebrations was held today here at DC Conference Hall under the chairmanship of I/c DC Tawang Lobsang Tsering.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commander Tawang Brigade, Colonel Aditya Negi, President YUVA Arunachal (NGO) and Coordinator of the festival Tsetan Chombay, senior army & civil administrative officers, HoDs, senior public leaders and bazar secretaries. Various matters like organizing the ‘Run for Tawang’ from Tawang monastery to Tawang War Memorial on November 10, Mass Cleanliness Drive on November 11 and Painting and Essay writing competition for school children on November 8 jointly by civil and army administration were discussed in the meeting. Both DC and Colonel Aditya Negi sought cooperation from all for successful conduct of the events. Earlier in the morning, GOC 5 Mountain Division Major General Deepak Saini along with other Senior Army officers had a meeting with DC, officers from District Administration and President YUVA and also inspected the preparations and venue of the celebrations.
Maitree Diwas which aims to foster civil-military bonhomie will be celebrated on November 14 & 15 at Gyalwa Tsangyang Gyatso High Altitude Stadium under chief patronage of Chief Minister Pema Khandu. Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is expected to grace the occasion as Chief Guest. DIPRO
