ZIRO, Oct 28: Akshay Raito and Pinky Karki won the men and women open singles respectively in the 5th State Level Bamin Tani Memorial Badminton Tournament 2019, that concluded at Multipurpose Indoor Stadium Hapoli here on Sunday last.
Akshay beat Charu Jaji in straight set 22-20, 21-13 to win the men’s title while Pinki beat Taring Yania by 21-12, 21-23, 21-11 to win the women’s title. Michi Takum defeat Robinson Gogoi to bag the veteran men’s single title.
In men’s open double, Biki Lakai and Kiyon Manpang beats Raja Gupta and Charu Jaji in straight set 21-12, 21-15 to won the title
In women’s open double, Pinky Karki and Taring Yania defeats Kenbi Riram and Nisha Upadhya in straight set 21-19, 21-9 to bag the title.
In veteran men’s double, Robinson Gogoi and Tania Bendu defeats Michi Takum and Dr. Hage Tadii in set 23-21, 21-12 to bag title veteran title.
In inter school senior team championship, Tailyang Panyu, Kalung Tubing and Duyu Horming of Governmen Higher Secondary  School Hija beat Tanyang Padi and Taku Ribya of Mihin Bagang Government  secondary School, Hapoli to win the title senior boys’ team championship while Kago Sunya and Chiging Mary of Dani Kunia Government Higher Secondary  School, Ziro defeats Tuk Eya and Tagrik Naya of Mihin Bagang Government Higher Secondary  , Hapoli to win Senior team championship title.
In inter school junior team championship, Tamo Huto and Dora Pinji of Mihin Bagang Government Secondar. School, Hapoli beats Pura Sanda and Tasso Komo of Bumer Memorial School, Ziro to bag Junior boys’ team championship while Tamo Sonya and Tamo Numpi of Royal Blue Pine Academy, Ziro defeats Taku Aying and Michi Sunka of Bumer Memorial School, Ziro.
In inter school literary competition, Government Rubu Rima of Hill Queen Education Institute, Ziro and Government Kago Pyanku of Government Higher Secondary  School, Hija won 1st and 2nd prize respectively in essay writing competition senior category while Government Dani Doniya of Bumer Memorial School, Ziro and Government Tage Elli of Midland Education Center, Ziro won 1st and 2nd Prize in essay writing competition junior category. Government Tania Mariam and Government Aditya Dutta of Don Bosco School, Ziro won 1st and 2nd prize respectively in extempore speech competition senior category while Government Teli Yeti of Kids Quest School, Ziro and Government Pura Kabin of Padi Lailyang Memorial School, Ziro won 1st and 2nd prize respectively in junior category extempore speech.
