TEZU, Mar 16: Rainstorm together with violent wind on March 15 evening in Lohit severely damaged both  the Low Tension Lines  (LTL) and High Tension Lines (HTL), bringing the district under complete blackout.
Over fifty different locations in the township and  adjoining villages were seriously affected. Simultaneously, Wakro and Sunpura circle equally experienced the impact of the storm that has also caused snapping of power supply.
“It will take minimum a week to restore normalcy as fallen trees and branches on the poles and  wires have caused, resulting in  collapse of the entire transmission system. Even the main 132 KV Grid Line was badly damaged between Aalo in West Siang and Pasighat in East Siang,” informed the power officials. 
The cyclone, besides ruining the power infrastructure has  also blocked roads at various pocket of the district, uprooted bamboos, and damaged standing crops and houses. 
Meanwhile, blackout in the district has severely affected the ongoing CBSE and other examinations.
