Palin, Oct 17: Rai Balo village under Gangte circle of Kra Daadi district falling under 18 Palin-Chambang AC was formally adopted as a Model Village under Chief Minister’s Adarsh Gram Yojana on October 15 last in a glittering ceremony.
Local MLA Balo Raja inaugurated the two-day long adoption programme on October 14 and was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner S.Miji along with other HoDs, Gaon Burahs, Ex-PRI Members and public. The MLA visited Government Middle School, Balo and interacted with the teachers and lauded them for making the school one of the best performing one in the district despite several difficulties. They also visited the Residential School and Primary Health Centre and interacted with the students and staff. Raja thanked the officers for being part of the historic occasion and opined that Rai Balo will be at par with the modern villages of the country with all basic amenities.
DC exhorted the villagers to make the village an exemplary one not only in the district but also in the entire state and suggested that all non-skilled works be allotted to the villagers so that their unemployment problem is solved to some extent. DIPRO
