ITANAGAR, Apr 12: Arunachal Pradesh Police switched to digitization by launching its Public Grievances Module here today at Police Headquarters. Home Minister Kumar Waii officially launched the digital initiative amidst Director General APP, SBK Singh and top cops of the state.
Briefing the gathering on digital campaign, the Director General informed that PGRM is an initiative to bring public closer to police by sharing their grievances through social sites like official website of APP, facebook ( http://facebook.com/arunacha
With the launching of the PGRM now public will be able to lodge their grievances after verification of his/her email address. It is also a forum where public can give suggestion for maintenances of law & order and improvement of public safety, added the DG. He further added that one officer will visit every day to ensure that the grievances are redressed as per the law and replies will also be filed on the website and the function of the module will be monitored at PHQ under SP (Crime).
Appreciating the Police team for innovative design to bring the common public more close to the department, Minister for Home , Kumar Waii said such move will definitely help the department to keep themselves alert to avoid any law & order problems.
‘Most importantly such initiative and technology will help to bridge the gap between the police and public,’ added Waii.
Further, he also urged the IPS officers to share their knowledge and experience with others to curb crime menace and anti social elements from society.
Beside regular duty Home Minister also stressed for extracurricular activities for Police personnel like sports to keep them fit. ‘I will support the department for activities like sports to keep our personnel not only fit but also free from stress,’ he added.
Among others, Superintendent of Police from all the districts as well as Commandants of IRBN attended the programme.
