ITANAGAR, Jul 7: The Police Training Centre, Banderdewa on Monday organized a webinar on ‘Gender Sensitization’ for the Arunachal Pradesh Police (APP) officials from various ranks ranging from SSPs to Constables as a part of the Smart Policing Initiative.
This is the first of its kind initiative of the state police department envisioned by the State DGP RP Upadhaya which will involve a series. The 1st batch of the series was attended by a total of 50 participants from 26 districts of Arunachal Pradesh which included 3 SSPs, 2 DSPs and other ranks such as Inspectors to Constables. The state was divided into 5 zones and participation was ensured through a virtual platform with adherence to social distancing norms and a dedicated 6 MBPS leased line broadband connection was installed in the PTC for the purpose. 
The webinar covered the topics such as- Gender Sensitization and Responsibilities of Stakeholders and Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace conducted by the Deputy Director (ICDS) Nyapi Ringu, General concept of Planning Access by Women to Resources and Violence against Women by AIG(Planning) Chandan Chaudhary, Role of Women in Police Department and the Male vs Female in Police Department by SP Yupia Jimmy Chiram and Importance of Gender Sensitization and Gender Awareness by Additional SP, Capital Complex Sumit Jha. The DGP appreciated the Principal, PTC Vikas Kumar for organising the training for the state’s police personnel using the virtual mode.
