PASIGHAT, Jul 13: In an effort to strengthen the student-teacher-parent coordination and thereby usher in a better education environment in school, the management of Government Secondary School, Kiyit under Mebo Sub-Division conducted its first Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) meeting on Friday.
While unanimously resolving to improve the overall academic environment of the school, parents and teachers emphasized on strict implementation of the guidelines issued by the Secretary, Education, Government of Arunachal Pradesh. Teachers urged the parents not to provide mobile phones to students which are the main cause of distraction in studies. Sticking to compulsory attendance of minimum 75% for obtaining clearance for sitting in examination was also stressed.
Headmaster Abong Lego spoke on the advantages of various schemes and appealed the parents to cooperate in the welfare activities of the school. Circle Officer, Namsing Circle cum SMC Chairman, Kabang Apum highlighted the importance of regular PTA meetings. SMC Member, Ingil Pertin urged for strict following of rules and regulations of SMC. Altogether 100 parents attended the meeting.
