KHONSA, May 10:  Hundreds of Anganwadi workers and helpers under the banner of All Arunachal Pradesh Anganwadi Workers & Helpers Union (AAPW&HU) staged a mass protest rally against the deputy director ICDS cell Khonsa for illegally terminating Anganwadi workers and helpers of Khonsa and issuing show cause notices to them.

Holding placard and banners, members demanded immediate revocation of the 63 terminated Anganwadi workers and helpers or to compensate them with Rs 10 lakh each. They also issued a 10 day ultimatum seeking the transfer the deputy director concerned.

Members also appealed Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Minister for Women & Child Welfare to intervene in the case and to ensure immediate transfer of the deputy director failing which the union has threatened to knock the High court’s door.

The protest rally that began from Gandhi stadium culminated at Army camp Khonsa .
