MIAO, Apr 2: Thousands of people here today took to the streets to protest against militant group NSCN (IM) for intimidation Zilla Chairperson Changlang cum President of Singpho Development Society (SDS) Jowkhong Singpho with dire consequences. The protest march was headed by Singpho Development Society.

‘We condemn such act by militant group who try to create disturbance in the peace loving society by intimidation and threat,’ said President Singpho Youth Organization, Thingnong Umbu . ‘If we cannot protect or stand for our chief than we also don’t have the right to live in this society,’ he added. He also extended gratitude to all the people who came from different parts of the state to participate in the rally.

Joining the protest and extending solidarity to the SDS Chief, President Singpho Women Welfare Organization, Pisilu Singpho said ‘We want peace, we have never disturbed any of the militant groups nor have any connection with them. We want peace and let us live in peace’.

Meanwhile a memorandum was also submitted to the concerned officer.

Among others organization like  Singpho Youth Organization  ( SYO ), All Bordumsa Singpho Student's Union  ( ABSSU ), Singpho Women Organization ( SWO), Miao Singpho Ramma Hpung ( MSRP) and Pan Singpho Student Union (PSSU)  also joined the rally.
