BOMDILA, Jul 6: Prompt action by the Bomdila police has saved the lives of 5 persons from sure death late Sunday night here at the 1 Mile area in the township.
Responding to a SOS received from the accident victims at around 2 am on late Sunday night, a team of police led by Officer In-charge Bomdila Police Station SI K Dev rushed to the spot immediately and found a car lying in the deep gorge which was about 300 feet down from the highway.
“It was very dark and the accident spot was in a dense jungle marked with a steep gorge of about 300 feet. During the rescue operation, the team found that five persons were stuck inside the car with severe injuries. They were swiftly evacuated and taken to the hospital with the help of stretchers after clearing the jungles,” West Kameng SP Raja Banthia informed through a press communiqué, adding that prompt action by the Bomdila PS OC and his team had saved the lives.
All the five injured were rushed to the General Hospital Bomdila for further medical treatment. A case vide BDL PS case no 29/20 u/s 188/279/338 IPC r/w sec 51(b) of Disaster Management Act has been registered against the driver and the occupants for disobeying the lockdown orders issued by the District Magistrate which prohibit roaming after 10 pm.
Meanwhile, the relatives of the injured have appreciated the Bomdila police for their prompt rescue efforts despite all odds.
