PASIGHAT, Dec 19: To review the progress and challenges of centrally sponsored schemes and projects being implemented in 11 districts of Eastern Arunachal, the 2nd Quarter DISHA meeting was held today here at the CHF Conference Hall under the chairmanship of Arunachal East MP Tapir Gao, attended by MLAs of the districts.
East Siang Deputy Commissioner Dr. Kinny Singh delivered speech as Member Secretary while DCs and HoDs of the 11 districts updated the current status of physical and financial achievements of about 40 centrally-sponsored schemes/programmes through Power Point Presentations. Gao assured the MLAs and DCs to extend all possible help in addressing the issues being faced while implementing the central schemes. Central funding in agriculture, horticulture and fisheries were minimal, MP noted and assured to take up the issue with appropriate union ministries. He exhorted the officers to be more responsive and cordial to the common people, categorically mentioning that benefits under Ayushman Bharat and names of empanelled hospitals should be widely publicized by DCs and also urged to forward the DPRs at the earliest to establish Ekalabya Model Schools in all these districts. The MP appreciated all for imparting their services in successful implementation of developmental works and asked the DCs to ensure that benefits reach the needy people. Gao divulged that to give boost to the long-routed train services like Rajdhani Express from Naharlagun via Rangia to Delhi and Tinsukia via Naharlagun to Budh Gaya, he has already been taken up the issue with the Union Railway Minister.
The next DISHA meeting will be held at Changlang shortly in February next, MP announced. Earlier, Pasighat MLA Kaling Moyong highlighted various issues including Smart City project and appealed the MP to provide adequate funds to expedite the project on priority. Mebo MLA Lombo Tayeng suggested rectifying the norms of some of the schemes which he said are not suitable for implementation in a state like Arunachal Pradesh and sought the MP’s assistance in this regard. PD (DRDA) Sibo Pasing threw light on the achievements of various departments of East Siang district.  DPO SK Sharma also spoke on the occasion.
MLAs Kaling Moyong (Pasighat East), Ninong Ering (Pasighat West), Kento Rina (Nari-Koyu), Lombo Tayeng (Mebo), Zingnu Namchoom (Namsai), Mutchu Mithi (Roing) and DCs Mitali Namchoom (Roing), Prince Dhawan (Lohit), D. Riba (Anjaw) and RK Sharma (Changlang) attended the meeting. DIPRO
