YINGKIONG, Nov 2: Field Outreach Bureau (FOB), Govt. of India, Pasighat organized a rally cum awareness programme and swachhta activities (Swachhta Shramdaan) to mark Swachh Bharat Mission at Padu village of Upper Siang district on Thursday.
The main objective of the programme was to create awareness among the rural people about cleanliness.
The programme started with a mass cleanliness drive and mega awareness rally.
Mihir Kumar Jha, FPA, FOB, Pasighat informed the gathering about Swachhta Action Plan and said that Swachha as a behaviour will come gradually but all have to come forward and think how to make society clean and attractive.
BOMDILA: The Swachhta Action Plan was also organized at Wanghoo village, Bomdila on Friday. The programme was held in close coordination with DMO, Bomdila and panchayat members of Wanghoo village.
The programme was marked with events like mass awareness rally, quiz competition, painting competition, rural sports competition, and mass awareness meeting.
Pem Tsering, FPO, FOB, Bomdila in his key note address said that the main objectives of organizing the programme was to create awareness about cleanliness drive which involves elimination of open defecation, segregation of waste, construction of pucca toilets, etc.
The resource person Dr. DK Mizizi, SMO Bomdila narrated on health and hygiene, clean and safe drinking water and explained the significance of keeping the surroundings clean.
