NAMSAI, Jan 11:   A day long programme on Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) being organized by District Election Officer, Namsai was held today at town club.
Attending the event, Deputy Commissioner cum District Election Officer, Namsai Dr. Tapasya Raghav, informed that the programme is being organized as per the directives of the Election Commission of India to make all the BLOs acquainted with the Election process including effective use of EVM and VVPATS.
Raghav in her speech also emphasized on greater participation and ethical voting. She appealed the GBs to organize Gram Chopal and Gram Sabha in every village to generate awareness among the villagers and encourage them to exercise voter’s franchise.
 Welcoming the newly enrolled electors (18-19 years age group) DEO said ‘youth is the main recourse of our country and their participation in democratic process is  vital.’
