TEZU, May 15:

 

In yet another blow to the Congress Party in the state, Zilla Parishad Chairperson, Lohit region, Patam Rangmang with two ZPMs and 14 Congress ASMs and 62 GPMs of 44-Tezu constituency on Monday formally joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.

 

The meeting saw huge gathering of party functionaries including state BJP president Tapir Gao and General Secretary, (organization), Ramesh Kadaganchi and Minister, (AHVDD), Mahesh Chai and others.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Tapir Gao wholeheartedly welcomed all the PRI members into the party and appealed them to work and contribute to nation building efforts in the line of visionary Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Pema Khandu.

Gao also highlighted numerous pro-poor schemes introduced by the BJP led government in the Centre and exhorted the new cadres to help those schemes reach the door steps of the needy persons especially in rural areas.

Later the house also passed political and social resolution which was earlier approved in the national executive council and state executive meeting.

The meeting earlier took off with a condolence and two minutes silence for the departed soul of late Gofailum Kri, former district president and senior member, who passed away on May14 last.
