ITANAGAR, Apr 23: Continuing with the efforts to check price escalation of essential and packaged commodities in the entire Capital Region, a team of Capital DA & LMCA officials on Thursday carried out inspection at the Naharlagun market.
The team was led by ADM Talo Potom, Assistant Controller (LM & CA) Er Taba Tabin, LMCA Inspectors Debia Tana & Tao Tassar, Vice Chairman APMC Tadar Akap and other officials. During inspection, a trader was arrested and put behind bars for overpricing and non-compliance of DM’s order. Deputy Commissioner Komkar Dulom informed that regular checking drives are being conducted to ensure commodities are not sold above MRPs. ADM is carrying out similar drives regularly and attending the price-hike complaints hitting the DA’s Facebook page. DC has requested the Capital denizens especially the trading community to cooperate with the administration and not try to take undue advantage of the situation.
Meanwhile, officers of the DA led by EAC Dakli Gara, CO Dr Geram Jongkey, CO Naharlagun Laxmi Dodum  and AMDO T Ekke since day one of the lockdown are trying to
out to the stranded migrants and those in need of help. As on Thursday, they have distributed ration items to more than 4500 people throughout the Capital Region and has provided the second instalment of ration to these needy people. DA is also reaching out to the stranded students and other needy people through the helpline numbers. Volunteers of Magic Club, WAVE, Humanity First and Kipa Mangal have been actively accompanying the officers during relief distribution.
Secretary General, APWWS Kani Nada Malling has been actively supporting the relief efforts by distributing self-stitched masks and motivating the youths, volunteers and NGOs. DIPRO
