PASIGHAT, May 7: In response to the complaint and objection raised by Students’ United Movement of All Arunachal East Siang Unit over poor quality road repairing along Pasighat-Ledum-Tene road, the PRI members of 8^th Bilat Anchal Block have defended the executing agency, department of PWD and concern contractor by terming the work quality not as poor as alleged.

In a joint representation submitted to Dy. Commissioner here today, the PRI members of 8^th Bilat Anchal Block led by ZPM, Smty Neyi Taloh, said that, the work along that 2KM stretch was being repaired by department of PWD on the initiative of PRI members after lying dilapidated for years.

 “On our request, EE, PWD had initiated the renovation of the said road in due anticipation though there was no immediate fund available. The quality of the road is up to satisfaction as far as our observation, but only towards the end of the road near Remi River Bridge there was found some minor poor quality of topping which is not serious”, the representation reads.

“On our request to repair that portion of road, the contractor concern has also responded and confessed that such poor work on that portion occurred due to heavy rain and Bihu festival when labourers were on off. And he has accepted to repair those portions of road as soon as possible. So, we don’t find any ground to carry forward the issue and appeal the concern student union not to create such kind of tension anymore for overall welfare of  society”, said ASM Tapu Darang.
