YAZALI, Feb 22: Preparation is in full swing for ensuing golden Jubilee Nyokum Yullo celebration at Yazali, which is soon going to start from coming Saturday and culminate on February 27 next.
Chief Engineer cum Director, Department of Urban Development, Taba Tedir who toured Yazali to oversee the preparation today has inaugurated and formally handed a building -“Nyokum Namlo”, constructed by department of UD at Yazali to people of the area, in presence of NES, President, Bengia Tolum amidst huge gathering.
Tedir, later also laid a foundation stone of “Nyokum Namlo” at New Pitapol opposite CO office in his day long visit.
Pointing out that celebrating festival showcased the unity and brotherhood of a particular tribe, he said "we are known by our tradition and culture and celebrating festivals help us to promote and preserve our rich heritage".
‘Our concept of celebration should not limit only to merriment but more so to inculcate values which are harmonious and constructive in its nature, he added.
