NAHARLAGUN, Feb 14: The Festival of Arunachal 2019, the 33rd Statehood Day, got off to an impressive start here at Naharlagun today with the artists of the Boulevard of Colours participating at a Valentine’s Day programme organized at the Oju Welfare Mission.
It was admirable to see young and upcoming rappers like Kartum Gumsar Tamin and Nyer come up with their stories in lyrics. While Yompe Chisi and Oyi Lendo enthralled the audience with their melodious voices, Jetin Nilling impressed the children with his guitar skills. Baji showed off his techno beat boxing proficiency and beat boxer, Dawa Norbu too stole the audience’s heart with his performance.
This year saw a big increase in the number of dance crews – Loading Crew, Urban Bros, Dab Crew, The Last Crew and Dream Makers who captivated the hearts of the audience with their various art forms.
The highlight of the day was the jam session where the members of Family Crew invited the children to dance to their moves amidst the techno beat boxing beats of Baji, winner of the Loopstation competition of Northeast.            
The event was also supported by Iconic Automobiles, Mahindra & Mahindra who provided lunch to the participants at the event.
The 4th edition of Boulevard of Colours - a two day culture & music street pageant in collaboration with the Department of Art & Culture, Government of Arunachal Pradesh is going to be held along the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium access road, Naharlagun from February 18 - 19.
BOC which began in 2016, is fast emerging as a coveted space for creative expression by young artists, musicians, authors and poets of the state.
