Khonsa, Mar 16: The draw of lots for giving effect to women reservation in the ensuing Panchayati Raj (PR) election in Tirap district was held here at the Community Hall on Monday under the chairmanship of ADC cum DPDO, Tirap K. Tikhak in presence of ADC Deomali Penga Tato, EACs Hakrersha Kri & A. Ragon, CO D.K. Thungdok, CO Borduria Lim Modi, CO Dadam Pik Tayom, representatives of political parties and ex-Panchayat leaders.
The draw was conducted as per the power conferred to the state government under Section 5 (i) (ii) (iii) & (iv) and Sub-Rule (iii) of Rule 12 of Arunachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj (Delimitation of Constituencies and Reservation of Seats for Women) Rules 2002 and Amendment Rule 2018. The following seats were declared as ‘Reserved for Women’ after the draw- Zilla Parishad Member (ZPM): 006-Kapu BB, 008-Tutnu and 009-Borduria; Gram Panchayat Chairperson (GPC)-the ZP Blocks (ten in total) of Deomali, Soha, Khonsa, Dadam, Khela-Bunting, Kapu, Lazu, Tutnu, Borduria & Bari-Basiap.
Gram Panchayat Member (GPM) seats will also be reserved from the above ten ZP Blocks. DIPRO
