ITANAGAR, Sep 9: Amidst the controversy over Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission’s Combined Competitive Exam prelims, People’s Party of Arunachal (PPA) today asserted that the repeated allegation on the part of some unsuccessful candidates in the recently held combined competitive exams prelims alleging the APPSC of being inefficient, incompetent and corrupt are uncalled for. Like the Election Commission and the institution of CAG, the Public Service Commission is a salient feature of our democratic and federal polity, stated PPA.
Further, PPA urged the state government to let the present APPSC team function as per mandate laid down in the Constitution. ‘Government and other stake holders including media should deliberate on the annual reports placed in the Legislative Assembly by the APPSC and address the grievances on priority. Moreover, Commission should not bog down under any extraneous pressure and initiate follow up action with the Government to introduce CSAT from the coming year to do away repeated controversies,’ stated a release from PPA.
