ITANAGAR, Apr 30: The power supply in Jote area have been restored within three days while effort to do so in the worst affected Chessa-Sunajuli under Banderdewa is underway.

The power supply at various location in Papum Pare District was badly affected and totally snapped as severe cyclone with hailstorm lashed the area leaving a trail of devastation with more than 150 houses damaged while more than 100 family remained homeless property worth crore damaged.

Minister Urban Development and local MLA Nabam Rebia while talking to this scribe said that he is constantly monitoring the area and have directed all officers of the district to extend support and help.

He said that the trail of devastation was not only in Chessa-Sunajuli area but in Jote, Bassarnallo, Balijan and other parts of his assembly constituency and he  is concentrating and in touch with all the officials and PRI leaders of the areas.  The matter has already been informed to the Chief Minister and action is being initiated from his end also, Rebia said.

Nirjuli Electrical Division Executive Engineer Ajay Murtem said that the existing power line from Kampo-Jumi which was totally snapped due to cyclone has been restored. Murtem said that the existing 11 KV line was damaged and now the 11 KV Kampo-Jumi line funded under MLADF during March 2017 have been completed on war footing and charged and the power supply in Jote and other parts of Sangdupota Circle have been fully restored.

Meanwhile AE Power Balijan Sub-Division, Janu Tayeng who is camping in Chessa-Sunajuli area said that with active support of the local people and PRI leaders, the department would be able to restore the 11 KV HT line latest by Monday. But the LT line of the area would take at least three days more to be restored.

The transformer which got burned and damaged recently at Lower Niti Vihar have also been cleared and a new transformer replaced and the power supply has been restored in the said affected area, said Itanagar Capital Electrical Division EE Nido Taka today.
