ITANAGAR, Nov 2: Chief Secretary Satya Gopal in a review meeting on Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana-Saubhagya took stock of the status and progress of the Saubhagya scheme in the State at Civil Secretariat on Thursday.
Commissioner Power GS Meena, Executive Director Rural Electrification Corporation Ltd GS Bhati, State Nodal Officer Ogom Moyong, all Chief Engineers, Superintendent Engineers, Executive Engineers were present in the meeting.
The CS raised his concern with the present pace of delivery of materials by RECPDCL and requested Executive Director, Rural Electrification Corporation to deliver the entire materials by November 15.
Taking into account the readiness of the Power Department to achieve 100% household electrification in the State, he urged the department concerned to work on mission mode to achieve the objective of the government that is to provide last mile free electricity connections to all un-electrified households in the State within 31st December.
It was decided in the meeting the materials required in higher altitudes and difficult terrains shall be transported on priority within week’s time from the date of delivery of materials by RECPDCL in the base stores. The materials available will be installed in such a way that maximum HH connections are released with minimum additional infrastructure.
Village wise separate erection and installation teams for High Tension, Low Tension, Distribution Transformer, and Household works are kept on standby, so that the said works are completed within week’s time from the date of receipt of materials at site.
Executive Director, REC Ltd. informed that as on date 20% materials are delivered at predesignated base stores by RECPDCL and the rest are in transit and will be delivered by the end of November. Chief Secretary further directed the Power Department to ensure that 100% Household Kits are installed by December 15.
The CS further instructed all Engineers of Power Department for full utilization of the materials supplied by the REC so far at the earliest and accordingly asked to release HH connections. He also stated that the progress work of each division shall be monitored by APDA and report be regularly submitted to the Chief Secretary and Chief Minister’s Office.
