ZIRO, Feb 29: The much awaited construction of the Potin to Pangin Road section of the NH-13 Package 1 & 2 from (Potin to Pamluk) officially commenced today with the flagging off event held here at the ANYA Gate.
Five Cabinet Ministers namely Home Minister Bamang Felix, Tourism, Transport & Civil Aviation Minister Nakap Nalo, Education Minister Er. Taba Tedir, Agriculture Minister Er. Tage Taki along with 6 MLAs namely Tarin Dakpe, Jikke Tako, Nyato Rigia, Taniya Soki and Rode Bui and the CBOs attended the event.
Felix in his speech made it clear that government is committed to work for the progress of the state and informed that compensation amounts as per the Fact Finding Committee report below Rs. 5 lakhs will be paid before March 15 next and those above Rs.5 lakhs will be paid in instalments with 55 per cent within the month of March this year and the remaining on or before August 2020. He directed the DC Ziro to submit details of the amount to be paid to genuine land affected within 12-hrs as per the Fact Finding Committee report. He also warned that if anyone be it the government servant or public is found involved in any unlawful activities related to the highway, will not be spared. He appealed the TSD, NES and frontal organizations of both the Nyishi and Apatani communities to play active role for timely completion of the highway project.
The HM also appreciated Taba Tedir and Taku Chatung who have surrendered compensation for cause of the TAH, also informing that state government has approved an additional Rs 62.48 crore for payment of compensation as per the Fact Finding Committee Report. He further reiterated that the people involved in compensation scam will be punished as per law. All the Ministers and MLAs expressed serious concern over delay in the construction of TAH as it took twelve years to start construction of the stretch from Potin to Pangin. They emphasized on early completion of the road and appealed the people of both Ziro-I and Ziro-II to cooperate and support the project.
Secretary TSD, Pura Tago while assuring the District Administration to their support for timely completion of the highway, expressed dismay since notice has not been served by the District Administration to the land affected people despite commencement of the construction. Education Minister requested the contractor of Package 1 (Potin to ANYA gate) to mobilize T&P at the earliest and appreciated the progress made by the contractor of Package 2 (ANYA Gate to Pamluk) and appealed the people to support and cooperate for an early completion.
