PASIGHAT, Mar 11: Simultaneous to the Women's Day celebrations in East Siang district on March 8 last, Poshan Pakwada was launched here at the 2-mile area with Deputy Commissioner Dr. Kinny Singh administering the Poshan pledge to the gathering.
Deputy Director (ICDS) P Angu spoke on women empowerment and the goals of Poshan Abhiyaan along with the significance of Poshan Pakwada.
Some PMMVY mothers who had completed immunization schedule were felicitated with gift hampers. The last ambassador of the Poshan celebrations in the district Chum Darang was also felicitated with a citation. Importance of good habits with a demonstration of handwashing technique was made by the AWH and Poshan pledge was administered by the Deputy Director (ICDS). Awareness on cleanliness and sanitation, clean drinking water and a short talk on Poshan Abhiyaan were events of the programme.
