Jairampur, Dec 8: The popular websitewww.amazingarunachal.comwhich for the last 12 years hasplayed a significant role in promoting tourism as well beauty of Arunachal Pradesh worldwide was relaunched today with a major facelift by the local MLA Laisam Simai here at his official residence.
The website is the brainchild of the renowned shutterbug of the state Arif Siddiqui and has been quenching the thirst of information hoarders related to Arunachal over these years. Simai lauded the selfless effort of Siddiqui and thanked him for all the promotional and good work he has done for the constituency and the state and wished the relaunched website all the best for future endeavours. The website was first launched in 2007 and since then it has been spreading the tourism potential of the state across the globe. Being a pictorial website, it has been claimed that this is the only website of the state that has covered all its districts.Siddiqui’s efforts have earned him accolades and awards and he was also tagged as the real tourism ambassador of Arunachal. Thanks to this website, which has a solid collection of photos since 2005, the state has catapulted itself from an unknown dot on the tourism map to a major destination of visit today. It may be mentioned that nearly all government departments including tourism have utilized his photos for free in publicity related events. On the sidelines of the launch, a jubilant Siddiqui shared that despite facing ups and down he didn't lose focus and continued his venture.Arunachal being my second home, my thanks go to its people for their love and support over these years, he said. He also assured that anyone who want to utilize this platform to highlight their hidden cultures and traditions through articles and photos will be welcomed.
It is worth mentioning that the site has played a pivotal role in popularizing the first edition of Pangsau Pass Winter Festival, now known as Pangsau Pass International Festival and it was through this the festival was spread across the globe, creating frenzy amidst the nature aficionados and cultural tourists.
