ITANAGAR, Sep 18:Engineers’ Day was celebrated with huge enthusiasm to mark the birth anniversary of world famous engineer and Bharat Ratna recipient, Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, here at Rajiv Gandhi Government Polytechnic College.

The programme was organized by the All Arunachal Pradesh Unemployed Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, and Computer Engineers Association. A seminar on “Hydro Power Generation” was conducted among the groups of students from the college.

In his address, Social worker, Payi Gyadi spoke about how deserving people in the state are being deprived of development by corrupt officials and politicians. He also took sincere note of the grievances of the unemployed engineers and promised to fight against malpractices and corruption in the recruitment system.

President, AAPUEEMCEA, Rigam Ralung highlighted the importance of the day and briefed about grievances of 1194 registered unemployed engineering graduates of variou streams who have been ignored by the government by not creating jobs despite several posts lying vacant in many departments.

Principal, RGGP, and IES, Mara Kocho also spoke on the occasion.
