Khonsa, Sep 15: Based on intelligent inputs regarding drug peddling being allegedly carried out from the dwelling house of one Chetry, a police team from PS Khonsa on Sunday morning carried a successful raid that led to the recovery of the contraband items along with the arrest of one accused.
Immediately after receipt of the tip-off, a police team was constituted led by SI B. Mossang under close supervision of OC PS Khonsa Inspector T. Wangpan. The team cordoned the house of the suspect and called the Town Magistrate Lim Modi, in whose presence the raid was conducted in the said house located here at Pinewood Colony at around 0715 hrs. The team recovered approx 6.34 grams of suspected brown sugar from the house of Chetry and arrested one of the accused. All legal formalities were made and a KSA PS C/No 36/19 u/s 21(b) of NDPS Act was registered and further investigation is currently on.
SP Tirap Kardak Riba congratulated the team for prompt response and pledged to curb the menace of drugs from the district in collaboration with District Administration and civil societies. DIPRO
