WAKRO, Apr 4:The Wakro Women's Welfare Association in collaboration with Wakro block unit of CALSOM on Wednesday felicitated SP Lohit, Kirli Padu along with a team of police that recently rescued four girls who had gone missing on March 23 last on the occasion of Apurba Diwas held at Wakro today.

 Inspectors, Aroti Jida, Thomas Pertin and Rajesh Kumar were also felicitated for their prompt action and arranging for their quick return home.

In his address, Padu while thanking the public for the support and recognizing their work stated that the police are always there to ensure safety of citizens and whenever public needs them.

The SP also asked the citizens to assist police whenever it needs support as to maintain peaceful atmosphere in the district and exhorted the school children present there to make best use of the facilities available for education to achieve success  in their life.

In his message Dr Amar Kumar Pandey, ADGP conveying his greetings appreciated the Lohit team saying that safe rescue was possible due to great work by SP Lohit, DC Lohit, people's representatives, citizens and NGOs clearly indicating that concerted efforts from all quarters with cooperation towards police makes things lot easier.

Meanwhile the SP also handed over solar lamps to Sohan Krong, ASM, Chirang who received them on behalf of villagers of Ruti village, Anjaw district.
