ITANAGAR, Apr 20: Joining the fight against COVID-19, the families of the Arunachal Pradesh Police (APP) have come forward and are stitching three-layer mask for the men-in-uniform discharging their duty during the lockdown.
Speaking to media, Director General of Police, RP Upadhyaya said ‘Our jawans are in the frontline, standing tall day and night so that no one gets infected from COVID-19. Wearing a mask is crucial to avoid infection but there is shortage of mask in the market. So, the family members of the jawans have come together and decided to stitch the three-layer masks for police personnel.'
‘We are stitching the masks after proper direction from the concerned authority on size and quality,’ the DGP added.
Besides 1st APPBn Headquarters Chimpu, Itanagar, masks are being stitched at 5th IRBN Headquarters Pasighat and 2nd IRBN Headquarters Diyun. As of now, 500 masks have been already stitched and ready for distribution.
