PASIGHAT, Jun 1:East Siang Police has solved a burglary case at a government school and has arrested two people in this connection on Thursday evening. Police also recovered items which were stolen from Ruksin Higher Secondary School in the month of February earlier this year.
In a statement, Superintendent of Police, East Siang, Prashant Gautam informed today that after thorough investigations, and subsequent information from locals, suspects were arrested and have been identified as Tony Koyu of Jonai (Assam) and Penam Tamat of Sille-Oyan (AP).
Stolen computers and other items were also recovered from their possession. Further investigation into the matter is going on and recovery of stolen items in other cases by these accused cannot be ruled out, added the SP in his statement.
He appealed the people to come forward with information to facilitate in other investigations too to ensure that anyone connected to theft cases are brought to justice.
The SP congratulated the police team comprising I/O ASI Apai Jamoh, NK ML Tayeng, Constables L Ojha, N Bori, M Modi, K Jamoh, N Riba, T Karpuk and OC Ruksin Sub-Inspector L Ori for their effort adding that their hard work has yielded the desired result.
“Sense of security increases among public especially when you take a long-time criminal off the street,” stated Gautam expressing his happiness.
