ITANAGAR, Oct 19: Capital police arrested a burglar and recovered stolen gold and local ornaments.
Reacting swiftly to an FIR received from one Yajum R Yaying on October 5 last that unknown miscreants had broken into her house located near Donyi Polo B.Ed College Bank Tinali, Itanagar and stolen all her gold jewelry worth Rs. 3 Lakhs.
A similar report was also received on October 6 last from one Aseng Perme that on October 5, unknown miscreant had stolen her local traditional ornaments from her rented room at Nino Apartment in the same area.
Hence, the FIR was clubbed as both the incidents took place at the same time and in the same locality, informed Superintendent of Police Capital Complex Tumme Amo.
During investigation closely supervised by OC PS Itanagar Inspector M Geyi, SDPO K Sikom under the supervision of SP Amo, various CCTV footages of the nearby areas including Nino Apartment were collected and analyzed thoroughly. Based on CCTV footage analysis and as per information from reliable sources one Yura Tate, 19 was apprehended from the same area on October 16. During interrogation, he admitted to committing the theft at both locations. Accordingly, he was formally arrested in an instant case after observing all legal formalities.
Police have recovered the stolen articles as per the disclosure statement of the accused, added the SP.
