NAMSAI, Mar 31:Intensifying the fight against drug abuse with the efforts to root out drug menace from Namsai District and to make the district drug free, a  joint operation was conducted to nab the active drug peddlers in the district on March 30 last. 

 A team comprised of district police of Namsai headed by DySP, Sepraj Perme including IRBN personnel, women activists from Women Welfare Society Namsai and Olik Koyu, Nodal Officer, Narcotics Cell Namsai under the active supervision of SP Namsai, CK Mein raided the house of Chow Chantana Khen and Chow Binoy Khen of Jenglai village under Piyong circle of Namsai district.             

During the raid suspected contraband substances  were seized along with cash, articles used for consuming these contrabands etc. Cases have been registered in Namsai Police Station under various sections of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
