KOLORIANG, May 2: The Koloriang police is reported to have successfully nabbed two prime suspects, allegedly accused in GB Bengia Tamang's murder case.
A statement issued by DGP stated that a rigorous search operation undertaken by the police team headed by Kurung Kumey SP Rajiv Ranjan Singh with active support from Deputy SP Tokin Saring Basar, SI Techi Nega and other police personnel led to the arrest of the duo today. Continuous search operation is on to arrest the third accused and the case has been transferred to SIT, RHO for a thorough investigation, the statement further read. “The police team has been raiding various hideouts in Taba and Damin village since April 27 last and finally arrested two out of three prime accused,” informed the DGP.
Meanwhile, a peaceful candlelight march was also organized here today demanding immediate arrest of the perpetrators involved in the murder of Bengia Tamang. The rally which was held under the aegis of Bengia Welfare Society (BWS) started from Old Bazar, Koloriang and culminated near DC office.
A memorandum was also submitted by BWS General Secretary, Bengia Sangkio to DC Kurung Kumey seeking justice for Tamang and immediate release of relief grant to the aggrieved family. ES Newsdesk
