ITANAGAR, Oct 28: Information Education & Communication (IEC) materials under Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) were released today by the Minister WCD etc Alo Libang here at his office.
The Minister while appreciating the department’s efforts in customising IEC materials for the state, also appreciated the Team PMMVY comprising CDPOs, Supervisors and Anganwadi Workers & Helpers  for enrolling more than ten thousand beneficiaries in the system with payment to 8,730 beneficiaries till date. He assured all help and co-operation from his side and requested everyone to spread awareness in this regard so that eligible beneficiaries receive PMMVY benefits. Director T.P.Loyi said that ICE materials have been designed to give a local touch by designing hoardings that depict models in various tribal attires of the state so that the targeted beneficiaries can easily identify with the scheme to take benefits. IEC contains video and radio jingles in simple language that can be easily understood by everyone in the state, she added. DD(Hq) N Ringu, Nodal Officer (PMMVY) Dorjee K Thungon, CDPO (Hq) Lenzing Tagi and other officials of the WCD Directorate attended the programme.
PMMVY scheme is a conditional Maternity Programme of the Ministry of Women & Child Development under which an amount of Rs 5000 is given to a first time mother in three instalments subject to fulfillment of the laid out terms and conditions. The cash transfers are done through DBT mode to the beneficiaries’ accounts using web based system called PMMVY Common Application Software.
