NAMSAI, Feb 4: Prime Minister, NarendraModi digitally launched the foundation stone oftwo Model Degree Colleges for Kanubari and Namsai and one Engineering College for Tezu,amonga total of 70 Model Degree Colleges, 11 Professional Colleges, 66 Enterpreneurs, Innovation & Career Hubs and 1 Women University under RashtriyaUchchatarShikshaAbhiyan( RUSA), from Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Center, Srinagar on Sunday, Feb 3. Simultaneously, Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein unveiled the foundation stone for Model Degree College, Namsai while the Kanubari MLA, Gabriel D Wangsu unveiled the foundation stone for Model Degree College, Kanubari at District Secretariat Conference Hall, Namsai.
Speaking on the occasion, Mein said that the much needed Model Degree College is the first Govt Higher Education Institution in Namsai District which will cater to the needs of the students of the district and will have both Arts and Science stream. 
Congratulating the people of Namsai for the Model Degree College, he called upon them to make full utilization of the institution and strive to make it the best educational institution in the state by providing quality education to the students. However, he said that efforts must be done to make the foundation strong right from the lower level of education to the students. He exuded hope that the institution will help to transform education system and improve the literacy percentage of the district which is only 54% as per the 2011 census.
MLA Kanubari, Gabriel D Wangsu said that Arunachal Pradesh is moving ahead in right track as many good things are happening under the able leadership and guidance of Chief Minister, PemaKhandu and the senior leader Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein. Further adding that the state is witnessing fast track developmental works in terms of infrastructure development and connectivity, he cited the launching of the foundation stone of Model Degree Colleges and Engineering College as other examples.
