PASIGHAT, Jan 3: In a noble gesture to beautify Pasighat township, a massive avenue plantation drive was conducted by Pamuk Welfare Society (PWS) from Sanggo Gas agency area to 2 Mile area along the National Highway 515 today.
Talking about plantation, Pamuk Welfare Society secretary general Anand Dupak said that Pasighat township doesn’t have any proper tree plantation and it looks odd. “Our effort is to extend a helping hand to the local administration for beautifying the township which is in the process of being developed as a Smart City”, added Dupak.
Several saplings were planted in the avenue plantation programme where round fencing made of bamboo were also fixed for protection from cattle. When asked about post plantation care measures to be undertaken by the society, Dupak said that volunteers will be deployed to routinely check growth and damage to the saplings.
