PASIGHAT, Jan 15: In a noble gesture to beautify and to spread awareness about soil conservation, Circle Officer Namsing, Khoda Lasa conducted a plantation drive today in the office premises with a promise to conduct more plantation drives in coming days to restore forests and protect available resources in the circle. Several saplings were planted in the avenue plantation program and round fencing made of bamboo were also fixed for protection from cattle. Saplings were provided by Sibyamukh Range of DE Wildlife sanctuary.
Speaking on the occasion, CO Khoda Lasa stated that tree plantation is a harbinger of prosperity. Plants eliminate the pollution and would let our coming generations to lead a healthy life. Our dedicated tree plantation program works towards communicating this very idea to the masses sensitizing on scientific and social importance of trees. He urged the officers/officials, GBs to reach out to people and explain to them the importance of planting trees and how such actions will be beneficial for them in the future. DIPRO
