PASIGHAT, Jun 10: Commemorating the World Environment Day and while maintaining the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, the All Depi and Depi-Moli Students Union (ADDMSU) under Ruksin Sub-Division organized a massive plantation and clean drive on June 7 last in association with Range Forest Office of Nari.
During the day total of 603 villagers attended the programme including students, ex-PRI members, Head Gaun Burah, Gaun Burah, Gaon Buris and village secretary.
On the occasion, RFO Nari Range, Omang Moyong spoke on importance of environment and its necessities to protect it for sustainable development and also discouraged villagers from the traditional practice of slash or burn cultivation.
On the occasion ADDMSU President, Omin Badu and General Secretary, Takar Tatak also spoke.
