GUWAHATI, Oct 9: The offices of the Press Information Bureau, Regional Outreach Bureau (DAVP, DFPS &DD) and Publications Division under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, started functioning the Assam Khadi and Village Industries Board complex at Chandanmari, Guwahati from today.
The PIB office which was earlier located at Pan Bazar, covers all the eight North Eastern states including Arunachal Pradesh.
The PIB offices disseminate information regarding policies and programmes of the Government of India to the public through media by means of interpersonal communication, exhibitions and other modes of publicity.
