GUWAHATI, Jun 25: Press Information Bureau (PIB) Guwahati on Thursday conducted a webinar titled ‘Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2005- Its Salient Features & Implementation’ attended by the officials of PIB, Regional Outreach Bureau and Field Outreach Bureau from across the Northeast. 
Former Deputy Secretary & Former Registrar, Central Information Commission, G Subramanian who conducted the virtual workshop spoke extensively on the salient features of the RTI Act and its implementation and asserted that transparency of information is vital in a democratic set-up like India.
Head of Department, Directorate General, North East Zone, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting L R Vishwanath said that the Act has done a great job since inception in promoting transparency and accountability in the working of every public authority in the country. PIB Guwahati
