MEDO, Dec 28: A Public Health Centre (PHC), which was a long felt demand of Medo under Wakro circle of Lohit district, was officially inaugurated by Chow Tewa Mein, MLA in a simple ceremony here today in the presence of Karma Leki, Deputy Commissioner, Lohit, H Diyum EAC Wakro, Dr S Nayil DRCHO, former PRI members, officials and public.
Responding to a memorandum submitted, the MLA promised immediate posting of doctors and other para-medic staff. He also directed the health authority to ensure water supply, electricity and other pre-requisite amenities for proper functioning of the PHC.
The DC also expressed his full cooperation to pursue adequate staff for the smooth running of the PHC.
Highlighting Medo’s fast growing population, Dr S Nayil said that the place by dint of growing tea industries and other agriculture produce required better health services. The inauguration of PHC is good news but need to be made functional immediately, he stressed.
H Diyum also drew the attention of the MLA on construction of boundary wall to ensure security and safety of land and the building.
