ITANAGAR, Mar 11: Much to the relief of the state, the ‘Bulletin on Covid-19 for Arunachal Pradesh’ released on Wednesday has said there are no cases of the lethal virus infection in state.
List of passengers from Arunachal Pradesh shared by GoI who have returned from Covid-19 affected countries as on March 11 is 17 who are all currently under observation (Home/Quarantine). The data was shared through a video conference which was chaired by Secretary MHA and attended by Chief Secretaries of all states/UTs, Principal Secretary (Finance), IGPs, Secretary Health and SSOs-IDSP.
Meanwhile, as a part of screening measures, passengers and railway staff numbering 220 coming from Delhi by the "Anandvihar Arunachal Express" which arrived at 06:55 am on March 10 were screened by using Non-contact Infra-red Thermometer for temperature monitoring. It was found that no one had fever i.e. their body temperatures were found normal and all were allowed to enter the state. The team comprised of State Surveillance Officer-IDSP Dr. L. Jampa, Public Health Specialists in the DHS Dr. Dukam Taipodia & Dr.Dipu Lowang, District Epidemiologist, DSU-IDSP Papum Pare Dr Hi Angu and Health Wellness Officers (CHO)/Nurses in the Health Wellness Centres (HWCs) Mary Tayum and Usha Pura.
Along with this, surveillance/screening for 18 passengers which included some VVIPs/VIPs arriving by helicopter at the Heliport in Naharlagun was done and all of them were found to be having normal body temperature. Surveillance/screening for passengers arriving by flight at Pasighat airport was also carried out and it will follow a routine pattern over the next days with logistics arrangement having despatched from the state headquarter which was received by the DSO-IDSP. Suspension of issue of Protected Area Permits (PAPs) banning visit of foreign tourists to Arunachal Pradesh till further orders has already been issued by the Secretary Tourism, GoAP vide Order No.Secy (Tou)-4/2014 dated March 6, 2020. State Level ToT on Covid-19 has been scheduled for March 13 wherein four officers/officials have been ordered to attend. Participations from other department/institutions viz: Army/CRPF/ITBP/APP, Civil Aviation, Disaster Management and private hospitals have also been invited. Resource Persons will be the Master Trainers who underwent the National ToT on March 6 last at Delhi along with the WHO Consultant.
Coming to the national figures on Covid-2019, the total number of confirmed cases as on March 11 (4.30 pm) stand at 60 and the total flights screened were 10,57,506.
