PASIGHAT, Jul 16: Pasighat will be hosting the Senior Women's National Football Championship in September 10-30 next here at the newly constructed Pasighat stadium.
According to official sources, thirty teams comprising seven hundred players and sports officials from all across India will take part in the championship. With the aim of smoothly conducting the historic event in a grand manner, East Siang Deputy Commissioner Dr. Kinny Singh convened a coordination meeting with the state and district sports officials, administrative officers and HoDs here at the conference hall on Monday. Arunachal Pradesh Football Association(APFA) State Coordinator Orin Lego and Secretary Kipa Ajay, DSO (Sports) Nada Apa and other sports officials General Jamoh and Tamat Gamoh briefed the DC about the requirements and challenges.
After hearing various issues concerning effective management of medical, security, water and power supplies, development of ground, transport etc, DC urged the sports officials and HoDs to submit their requirements/proposals/estimates etc in a proper manner immediately so that they may be forwarded to the higher authority for further perusal. DC while assuring to leave no stone unturned to make this prestigious football tourney successful, also expressed hope that the mega event would promote tourism in the district. DIPRO
