ITANAGAR, Aug 28: The centurion town— Pasighat is all set to host the 25th Senior Women's National Football Championship 2019 scheduled to be held from  September 10- 24 next.
A total of 30 states comprising more than 800 players including officials, coaches of  various sporting clubs will be participating in the championship. This was informed by Arunachal Pradesh Football Association, Secretary, Kipa Ajay in a press conference held at press club on Wednesday.
"We feel delighted to announce that Pasighat has been selected to host the prestigious Senior Women's Football Championship -2019. It's a huge honour for the State and APFA is immensely proud at the prospect of hosting such a prestigious tournament," he said.
He informed that all the matches will be played at the newly constructed Pasighat Stadium and CHF Pasighat ground. All preparations including lodging, security arrangement etc has been done.
"We have apprised DC, East Siang regarding further requirements for the successful conduct of the championship in a meeting held recently," he said.
Vice President, APFA, Kipa Takam said through the tourney the organization has the vision to lay a strong foundation for the development of women's football in the state.
"I hope that the event will make a constructive impact and help create a lasting football ecosystem for women footballers of the state", he opined. He also sought support from locals for success of the event.
Furthermore, the APFA members also told that temporary inner line permit (ILP) offices will be set up at Ruksin check gate so that inconvenience is minimized for visitors arriving to the state to witness the matches.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Speaker, Legislative Assembly, PD Sona, are expected to attend the inaugural programme.
